Monster Science

The Scientists of Rang 4 were also busy learning all about ‘Air’ this year.

The pupils had great fun completing a range of experiments, investigating how air can lift and move objects. The pupils recorded their results in their Science journal (top secret of course!).

The pupils were set a challenge and worked in pairs to complete this task.

Each group were given the following objects: a plastic pocket, a scissors, variety of colored paper, colours and a cardboard shoebox.

The pupils had to create a monster and wait for it... “the monsters mouth must open through air compression!”

Just like that, off they went, designing and making a monster whose mouth opens through the compression of air.

Take a look at their end results, but be careful... Monster Science is not for the faint hearted!

The Normans & Medieval Castles

Rang 4 have been busy learning all about the Norman's and the Middle Ages in History this month. The pupils read all about the Norman's and the different jobs of those living and working in a Medieval Castle. They particularly enjoyed looking at the different features of a typical Medieval Castle.

The pupils worked in small groups, using the school laptops to research different Medieval Castles which exist in Ireland today, such as: The Dublin, Trim, Blarney and Bunratty Castle.

Check out their fantastic group work!

The pupils then had fun constructing Medieval Castles in their Visual Arts lesson. They used recycled material and paint to create these Middle Aged Castles.

Super work by a super class!
