Learning in Nature
Forest School is a child-centred, outdoor learning approach that takes place in a natural woodland setting. It provides children with the opportunity to learn and develop through hands-on experiences in nature, in all weathers and across all seasons.
We are incredibly fortunate to be located in the heart of Glendalough, giving our pupils direct access to one of Ireland’s most beautiful and biodiverse natural landscapes. Our Forest School sessions take place in the woodland surrounding the school throughout the year.
Research consistently shows that outdoor learning improves children’s physical and mental wellbeing, builds resilience, nurtures creativity, and develops a lifelong appreciation for the natural world.
There is no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing. Our children are outdoors learning every week, building confidence, curiosity and connection with the natural world around them.
