Admissions Process

Applications for Junior Infant places 2027/28 will open in October 2026. We encourage families to apply early as places are limited.

To apply, please download and complete our Enrolment Application Form and return it to the school office by post or in person, along with the required supporting documents.

We also warmly invite prospective families to visit our school where you can meet the staff, see the classrooms and ask any questions you may have.

Required Documents

  • Completed Enrolment Application Form
  • Child’s full birth certificate (original)
  • Child’s PPS number
  • Proof of address (utility bill or bank statement)
  • Baptismal certificate (if applicable)
  • Any relevant medical or educational reports

Children must be 4 years of age on or before 1 September 2026 to be eligible for Junior Infant entry.

Autism Provision Class Admissions

We also accept applications for our autism-specific classes. Admission to Autism Provision classes is managed through the NCSE (National Council for Special Education). Please contact our SENCO or the school office for guidance on this process.

Admissions FAQs

What age does my child need to be?

Children must be 4 years of age on or before 1 September of the year they are due to start Junior Infants.

Is there an application fee?

No. There is no fee to apply. Under Irish law, primary schools are not permitted to charge fees or seek payment for admission, enrolment or continued enrolment applications.

Is the school Catholic?

Yes. Scoil Chaoimhín Naofa is a Roman Catholic primary school under the patronage of the Archbishop of Dublin. We warmly welcome children of all faiths and none.

How many places are available?

The number of Junior Infant places varies each year. Please contact the school office for the current year’s availability.

Is there a waiting list?

If we are oversubscribed, a waiting list is maintained in accordance with our Admissions Policy. Families on the waiting list will be contacted if a place becomes available.

Can I visit the school before applying?

Absolutely — we encourage it. Contact the office to arrange a visit.
